AIBCU seeks social justice for OBCs

JAMMU, Feb 25: All India Backward Classes Union  (AIBCU) has asked BJP not to let down the OBCs of the State and fulfill the promises made with the community who constitute 60 percent of State’s population.
In a statement issued here today, the Union said that OBCs have been given a raw deal by previous NC and Congress Governments for over last 67 years.
The meeting said CMP does not mean only to talk about the Article 370, and AFSPA but good governance which is not possible without social justice.
The Union said the OBCs in the State have been deprived of social justice since independence and the successive Governments failed to implement the Mandal Commission recommendation.
It said though the community had pinned high hopes in BJP but the party while making selection of Rajya Sabha and Legislative Council members did not consider any member from the OBCs to be elected to the two Houses from the State.
The Union which held a meeting under the presidentship of Abdul Majid Malik again made an appeal to BJP to fulfill its poll commitment. Others present in the meeting included H D Betab, Mohammed Kabir Qureshi, Ghulam Rasool Nazar, Deepak Pandey, Bodh Raj Dogra, S Rajinder Singh, Sandokh Chand, Darshan Lal, K D Darmotra, Puran Chadgotra, Master Sain Dass, Darshan Kumar and Prof Kali Dass.
