Cautions cadre to sink differences, keep coordination

JAMMU, May 30: While cautioning the Pradesh Congress cadre to sink their differences and work in close coordination for better results, All India Congress Committee (AICC) general secretary (Incharge Organisation) K C Venugopal (MP) today said that JKPCC leadership must put 100 per cent efforts for winning upcoming ULB and Panchayat elections in Jammu and Kashmir.
In a meeting of the senior leadership of Jammu and Kashmir in Union capital today, AICC general secretary took stock of the overall situation, especially the preparedness of the party for the upcoming elections to the Urban Local Bodies and Panchayats due to be held later this year.
Venugopal advised JKPCC president Vikar Rasool Wani to take along all the senior leaders, keeping better coordination with all for better results in the upcoming elections, party sources said.
At the same time, the AICC general secretary advised the senior JKPCC leaders to work for strengthening the party, keeping aside their personal interests and grudges against others, if any, the sources added.
The AICC general secretary told the JKPCC leaders to further gear up the activities and preparations for the upcoming elections to ULB and Panchayats in a coordinated manner besides continue raising the public issues in a forceful manner and expose the BJP’s wrong policies.
The J&K leadership of the party apprised the general secretary about the current political situation and the party’s preparations for the upcoming elections to the ULB and Panchayats due later this year. They said that party leaders are continuously reaching up to the masses on daily basis and projecting the issues of public besides exposing BJP led Government at the Centre and ‘proxy Government’ of BJP in Jammu and Kashmir.
The party leaders apprised him of the boost to the party after the massive response to the ‘Bharat Jodo Yatra’ led by Rahul Gandhi and the landslide victory of the party in Karnataka. It was apprised that the people are totally fed up with the policies of the BJP Government, especially the unprecedented price rise, record unemployment and job scams besides other anti- people actions of the Government.
The people want early restoration of Statehood and immediate elections to the Assembly, which stands dissolved for around five years, they added.
The meeting was attended by the AICC Incharge J&K affairs, Rajni Patil (MP), JKPCC president Vikar Rasool Wani, CWC Member Tariq Hameed Karra, AICC joint secretary Co- Incharge Manoj Yadav, former JKPCC presidents Peezada Mohd Sayeed and Ghulam Ahmed Mir, working president Raman Bhalla, Ex- DyCM Tara Chand, former Minister Mula Ram, senior leaders- Th Balwan Singh, Ghulam Nabi Monga, NSUI president Neeraj Kundan and Ravinder Sharma (JKPCC chief spokesperson).
Meanwhile, several JKPCC leaders including JKPCC working president Raman Bhalla called on AICC president Mallikarjun Kharge in the Union Capital today and congratulated him for land sliding victory of the party recently in Karnataka.
The leaders also apprised AICC president of the political situation in the Jammu and Kashmir and also discussed organizational affairs with him. They also discussed socio-political development taking place in Jammu and Kashmir under the Lt Governor’s administration.
