AICC team, Digvijay to review BJY preparations in J&K

JAMMU, Dec 14: A high level All India Congress Committee (AICC) team led by national general secretary (org), KC Venugopal is arriving in J&K to review preparations for the smooth conduct of ‘Bharat Jodo Yatra’ led by Rahul Gandhi in Jammu and Kashmir.
Former Madhya Pradesh Chief Minister and senior party leader, Digvijay Singh (MP Rajya Sabha), who arrived here today will also meet JKPCC leaders tomorrow and review the preparations for the upcoming Yatra in the Union Territory of Jammu and Kashmir. He was received at Jammu airport by senior JKPCC leaders led by former Minister Yogesh Sawhney.
The party sources said that Rahul Gandhi-led ‘Bharat Jodo Yatra’ from Kanyakumari to Kashmir is likely to reach J&K in the third week of January.
“Digvijay Singh, who is also All India incharge of the ‘Bharat Jodo Yatra’ and chairman of the said Committee , shall attend a family function of his relatives at Jammu today. Tomorrow morning, he will be meeting the JKPCC party leaders connected with the Yatra to take detailed review of the preparations for the same,” J&K Coordinator of the Yatra and former JKPCC chief GA Mir said.
Mir further said that besides him, a team of senior AICC leaders led by national general secretary organization, K C Venugopal from Delhi will visit J&K on December 22 and 23 and take stock of the preparations being made for the ‘Bharat Jodo Yatra’ here. He said Rahul Gandhi will spend eight days in Jammu Kashmir during this Yatra period.
