AIIMS team helps Maharashtra set up modern Emergency system

JAMMU, Aug 8: Maharashtra State is all set to have country’s most modern Emergency Medical Service system.
This could be possible because of the untiring efforts and commitment of the team of doctors from All India Institute of Medical Sciences (AIIMS), under the leadership of son of the soil, Dr Shakti Kumar Gupta HoD, Hospital Administration & Medical Superintendent, AIIMS, Dr R P Centre for Opthalmic Science.
With this, Maharashtra will be the first State in the country to have the most advanced ambulance system comprising of 937 ambulances, scientifically designed and equipped with the most modern facilities and monitored and controlled by a Central Dispatch Centre via GPS and GPRS technology.
This adds another feather in the cap of Dr Shakti Gupta, who has for long been considered an invaluable force to reckon with in the field of public procurement related to healthcare. He is regularly consulted on such matters by the Ministry of Health & Family Welfare, Road Transport & Highways, External Affairs, Govt. of India etc and has also authored several books in the field of Hospital and Healthcare Administration.
On the request of Maharashtra Government, the AIIMS team started work and made detailed presentation. The team recommended the most advanced BLS and ALS ambulances, ever purchased in the country for the operation.
When asked about the various delays occurring in the procurement of vital life saving equipment and ambulances in own State and as to why he has not helped the J&K State with his expertise, Dr Gupta said he is ready to do anything for his State which has given him all what he is today.
