AIJKBOO holds first triennial conference, elects new executive body

JAMMU, Apr 13: The All India Jammu and Kashmir Bank Officers Organization (AIJKBOO) held its first triennial conference today at Country Inn & Suites, Bahu Plaza, Jammu.
The event saw participation from delegates across Jammu, Kashmir, Delhi, Punjab and other parts of the country, along with members of civil society.
As per a statement, the inaugural session was presided over by the Labour Commissioner of J&K, Charandeep Singh, who praised the positive role of AIJKBOO in the bank and highlighted the importance of legal compliance by trade unions.
He appreciated that AIJKBOO is following due procedures and extended best wishes to the newly elected executive.
Pawan Kumar, North India Organizing Secretary of BMS, delivered the keynote address, stressing the role of the banking sector in the country’s future development.
Adarsh K N, General Secretary of NOBO, discussed the challenges before the United Forum of Bank Unions (UFBU) and its ongoing negotiations with the Indian Banks’ Association (IBA).
Three resolutions were passed during the conference. These included an appeal to the bank management to implement the IBA-UFBU-agreed Performance Linked Incentive (PLI) and bear employee perquisites, a call for fresh recruitment, and enhancement of the monthly subscription fee from Rs 25 to Rs 100.
As the tenure of the current executive has ended, a new body was also elected unanimously for 2025-28.
Raghbir Singh Jamwal was elected as President Jammu Unit, Shabir Ahmad Khan Working President of the Kashmir Unit, Kulbir Singh Slathia and Javeed Akram Dar as Senior Vice Presidents of Jammu and Kashmir Unit, Dewaker Bakerwal and Zubair Anjum Khan as Vice Presidents of Jammu and Kashmir Units, Mukesh Kumar as General Secretary of the Jammu Unit.
Similarly, Rohit Singh Langeh was elected as Deputy General Secretary of the Jammu Unit, Pawnish Kapoor as Organizing Secretary of Delhi Unit, Akhil Bali as Deputy Organizing Secretary of Southern India Unit, Arjun Manhas as Secretary Delhi Unit, Dhairyashil Vijay Wagh as Secretary Southern India Unit, Manzoor Ahmad Malik as Secretary Kashmir Unit, and the post of Secretary Ladakh unit remained unfulfilled.
