KATHUA, July 12: AIJMS J&K held a meeting under the chairmanship of its President Manmohan Singh and discussed the issues concerning the Jat community.
In the meeting, the residents of Dayala Chak participated in huge numbers.
While speaking, Manmohan Singh said that their long pending demand is ownership rights of custodian lands and recently the High Court has also ordered the departments to transfer the legal rights of these lands to the people.
“Government need to issue orders to implement the Court decision”, he demanded.
He further informed that a team of 200 members of Central Jat Biradari Body witnessed the situation of our biradari and promised their full support if Government fails to come to their aid.
“To gain their support, we need to support each other and make our demands heard in unity”, he added.
Choudhary said that crop harvesting season is going on and when it ends, a committee will be framed in Tehsil Hiranagar, which will meet every family and the residents to strengthen the roots of their biradari.
He said that after grant of reservation to the border dwellers, his main focus is to get implemented the legal transfer of custodian lands and after that they can claim for one time settlement amount.
“If the Government fails to resolve these issues then AIJMS will hold a State level protest”, he warned.
Among others present were Capt Chandu singh, Retd DySP Diwan Singh, Sham Lal, Rashpal Singh, Retd Lecturer Girdhari Lal, Capt Om singh, Kamal Randhawa, Janak Raj, Surat Singh, Satish, Rasal Singh, Subash, Sethu and Subedar Ganesh Choudhary.
