AIKS felicitates Hangloo, Zaffar

JAMMU, Jan 12: For their immense contribution in preserving Kashmiri Culture and Language, All India Kashmiri Samaj (AIKS) felicitated Ramesh Hangloo and Prof MY Zaffar on the second day of the National Seminar Cum Workshop on the preservation of the Kashmiri Language, today.
While Hangloo was felicitated for his tremendous contribution in establishing All India Radio despite all odds and in dark dense, Prof MY Zaffar, an authority on Shaivism was honoured for his outstanding contribution to the philosophy of Shaivism.
While appreciating Hangloo for his immense contribution, president AIKS Moti Kaul said that establishing Shardha Radio was an uphill task, so Hangloo has done a Yeoman’s job and has made all of us proud.
Speaking on the occasion Hangloo said that we should take lesson from those communities who despite living in exile have succeeded in keeping their languages alive.
Meanwhile, MY Zaffar in his message has suggested of creating NGO’s which can help deserving writers to establish themselves.
Meanwhile, on the second day of the seminar, various papers were read out by the renowned writers including Dr Afaq Aziz, Dr MY Zaffar, Prof Shad Ramzan, Mr Nirdhan and Dr RL Shant. The papers were later discussed in detail.
A poetic recitation presided over by PN Kaul Sayil was also organized in the second session today.
Three books were released by Moti Kaul on this occasion. Poets who recited their poems included Bal Krishan Sanyasi, PN Sayil, RL Jowhar, JL Saroor, Kalhan Koul, Bashir Baderwahi, SK Tiku, Santosh Nadan, Bimla Misri and Pyare Hatash.
