AIKS for taking concrete steps to instil sense of security among KPs in Valley

NEW DELHI, Apr 16: In response to an SOS press release issued by KPSS (Kashmiri Pandit Sangarsh Samiti)  red flagging the grave situation evolving in the Valley for the residual community members and PM package employees, the AIKS Consultative Group in its meeting at its office here, today, urged the Government to take immediate and foolproof security measures for the safety of community members in the Valley including the PM package employees.
AIKS noted with concern not only the depleting living standard of KP families living in the Valley which are less than a 1000, but deprivation of opportunities in education and employment by the successive Governments. They seem to be living on the margins with respect to their economic well being, rendered by the lack of access to quality education and employment opportunities—’ We feel aggrieved, our ambassadors in the Valley are not well taken care of was the unanimous vote in the consultative meeting.
AIKS is very concerned about the safety and security of PM package employees who are spread across the Valley on postings in various Government departments. Whatever the pressing financial and social situations of such employees who sign on dotted lines, but community  will not allow them to be used as cannon fodder,  Government is obliged to take care of their security at all levels.
While AIKS appreciates the bold initiatives undertaken by the Government led by the PM Narendra Modi in rooting out terrorism and bringing the trouble prone erstwhile State into national mainstream  through myriad policies at the same time it remains very concerned, often in ‘finger-cross’ situation  about the safety and security of our remnant number of community members and PM Package employees who intermittently find themselves in the line of fire. AIKS, therefore, urged upon the Central Government and LG Office to take immediate and foolproof measures for the security of our community and allay their fears.
