JAMMU, Sept 19: All India Kashmiri Samaj (AIKS) whose team led by its president Moti Kaul recently visited Kashmir valley to reach the stranded and marooned people there and provided them whatever possible assistance in reaching to safer places has now decided to evolve the second phase of the action plan for long term rehabilitation of those who have lost their homes and their house hold goods in the floods.
In a statement issued here, today it said the plan will also take into consideration the long term needs of the sick and elderly, particularly in the light of the approaching Winter. Once the plan is formulated, its modalities for execution will be made public.
The statement said that the AIKS team visited Zeethiyaer, Durga Nag, Ganpatyar, Karan Nagar, Jawhar Nagar, Shivpora etc. The team also delivered the much needed ration, medicines, clothes, vegetables, blankets etc.
It said the AIKS made an humble effort to mitigate in its own way the sufferings of the people stranded at various places in Valley in collaboration with KOA and KMECT, it got down to providing necessary assistance through a chain of command centers established in Delhi, Jammu and Srinagar.
