JINDRAH, Aug 12: Provincial President National Conference and MLA Nagrota Devender Singh Rana today pitched for upgrading the educational standard in rural and far-off pockets, bringing these at par with the urban areas, for career building of youngsters in this competitive era.
“Of course universalisation of education is our cherished agenda but the focus has now to be shifted to rural areas for ensuring quality education to deprived segments of the young population so that they are placed in well stead in the prevailing job market”, Mr Rana said during his visit to Jindrah Degree College, first and the only such facility in Nagrota Assembly Constituency.
Mr Rana provided ten iPads and two air-conditioners to the school management out of his Constituency Development Fund and said he would always be ready to assist in any way for ensuring quality education to students of this part of the State. He also offered to sponsor best possible coaching anywhere in the country to meritorious students who want to compete in various civil services exams and professional courses.
“It will be my humble endeavour to ensure that maximum possible students, with merit and aptitude, are covered under the coaching scheme”, he assured while expecting the students to aim high and strive for excellence.
Mr Rana hoped that the student community will appreciate the need for putting their best to remain relevant to highly competitive courses in best possible institutes across the country. “This is an era for those who have fire in their chest to make their mark”, he said, hoping that the youth of Nagrota will not lag behind in the field of academics and extra-curricular activities, which he described imperative for overall physical and mental growth.
Mr Rana planted a sapling in the campus and hoped the students would carry forward this drive from the ongoing monsoon itself to make their temple of learning environment-friendly.
The Provincial President also urged the executing agency to expedite the work on the construction of the building complex while taking care of its aesthetic grandeur. He said early completion of the complex is necessary for providing conducive academic environment to students.
Later, in an interactive session with locals of Jindrah, Mr Rana enumerated the initiatives being pursued at various levels for giving development a push and maintaining the utility services for meeting the requirements of the people. He said he will knock every door to seek best possible facilities in terms of quality drinking water, adequate power supply, best schooling facilities and round the clock medicare across the constituency, notwithstanding the negative tendencies of the PDP-BJP Government.
The locals brought to notice of the MLA their problems, which he assured would be taken up at appropriate level for earnest redressal.
