AIMCCC delegation calls on Div Comm

JAMMU, Aug 19: A delegation of All India Migrant Camp Coordination Committee (AIMCCC) called on Divisional Commissioner Jammu Ramesh Kumar here ,today and discussed problems of the displaced people from Valley with him.
The team was led by its president, Desh Ratten Pandita and other members included general secretary, M M Kanth and secretary, AIMCCC, J L Raina. It discussed all the problems faced by migrants at Jagti township and in other camps.
The issues discussed included water problem at Jagti township, as the present system of water supply scheme is a total failure and demanded permanent solution to the problem by constructing bore wells. The delegation said the camp inmates were fighting for this demand since a long time but the Government and some departments are delaying the construction of bore wells for the reasons known to them.
It demanded immediate filling of vacant posts in Higher Secondary School Jagti as students have suffered due to shortage of teachers. It demanded earlier release of ration quota of migrants as they have already discussed it with Chief Secretary some days back. The delegation further demanded immediate supply of medicines to Jagti township hospital and more employees be posted in the hospital so that the problem of public could come to an end.
The delegation while expressing concern over the insanitation at Jagti township demanded proper sanitation at Jagti as well as all other camps. The Safai Karamchari be given proper equipments and phenyl etc for sprinkling in the camps besides parks at Jagti and other camps be properly maintained and renovation of quarters be taken up in hand as rainy water is coming directly to quarters.
The delegation also appealed the Divisional Commissioner to visit Jagti township to ascertain the problems of the inmates there.
Divisional Commissioner assured the delegation that he will take up the issue with concerned departments for settlement.
