JAMMU, Oct 30: A delegation of All India Migrant Camp Coordination Committee (AIMCCC) meets National Conference (NC) president, Dr. Farooq Abdullah at his residence here, today. The delegation was led by its chairman B K Raina.
The memorandum/charter of demands was handed over to N C president by Desh Ratten Pandita, president AIMCCC.
It among other things demanded minority status to KPs, separate budget till return & rehabilitation , release of balance ex-gratia of burnt/damaged houses and structures, enhancement of cash assistance to relief holders up to Rs 25,000 per month/per family, political empowerment of community by giving two seats, restoration of all encroached land in Valley, implementation of P. M. Kissan Nidhi Yojna on KPs also, one job to one family, implementation of all schemes either of State or Center on KP community like Beti Bachhao Beti Padao, Ladli Beti, Ayushman Bharat etc, special scholarship schemes for KP students.
The memorandum further demanded construction of residential colony at Jammu for those KP migrants who are residing on rent basis, special healing touch policy for over-aged youth, construction and renovation of Hindu shrines and temples in Valley, construction of bore wells at Jagti, formation of KPs Minority Board having members from all districts to mitigate their problems, representation to community in Swami Amarnaath Shine Board, release of Rice, Sugar, Atta to pensioners and Government employees on subsidized rates etc.
Those who accompanied the delegation included J L Raina general secretary AIMCCC, Kulwant Singh, Sagar Koul, Ramesh Tikoo, Anil Mehta, Yogesh Chib, Rajinder Tikoo, Sunil Kachroo among others.
