AIMCCC delegation calls on P K Pole

JAMMU, June 14: A delegation of All India Migrant Camp Coordination Committee (AIMCCC) led by its chief, Desh Ratten Pandita today called on Secretary, Relief, Rehabilitation and Disaster Management, P K Pole at Civil Secretariat Srinagar.
AIMCCC chief informed him about severe water crisis at Jagti township. He informed Commissioner, Secretary that in some blocks water has not been supplied for last 10 days and people face lot of hardships in this scorching heat.
He said since construction of Jagti colony no steps were taken to improve water supply despite the repeated pleas of inmates of the colony. The water is a basic necessity for survival and ignoring its need by the concerned authorities’ amounts to criminal negligence, he added.
He said Government is not sincere in solving such problems. Electric transform at Jagti township in lane 19 is out of order since a long time and people suffer much. People neither have water supply nor power in these hot days and it is a serious problem. The camp inmates have lost all patience, he added.
Commissioner/ Secretary Relief informed the delegation that file for bore wells has been sent to Finance Department, as it is cleared the work on bore wells will be started in the township.
