JAMMU, Aug 3: All India Migrant Camps Coordination Committee (AIMCCC) delegation calls on Chief Secretary, Arun Kumar Mehta and Director Food Civil Supplies & Consumer Affairs (FCS&CA) Jammu, Dr.Naseem Javed Choudhry to discuss problems of KP community putting up in camps and non camps.
AIMCCC leaders put charter of demands before Chief Secretary. The demands which were discussed includes1 shortage of Atta, Sugar and Rice, water problem at Jagti township, sanitation at migrant camps, shortage of medical facilities at Jagti township Hospital ,Shortage of teachers at Higher Secondary School Jagti township, renovation of parks and blocks at Jagti township and Skill Development Schemes for migrants.
The Chief Secretary assured the delegation that he will issue the directives to concerned departments for their redressal in a stipulated time .
The delegation requested the Director FCS&CA, Jammu to make people aware about the reasons of shortage of flour quota for last two months. The delegation discussed problems faced by migrants due to non and delayed supply of Rice, Atta and sugar. It was informed that the Rice, Sugar and Atta which was provided to people including KP migrants under OMSS Scheme, has been stopped by the Central Government throughout the country.
The delegation requested Director Food Civil Supplies and Consumer Affairs Jammu that such orders should have not been applied upon migrants who are refugees due to failure of Governments. Director said, that the Department is fully aware and has sympathy for displaced people and will visit to different camps. He also said that he has brought the matter in notice of other concerned higher ups.
The team was headed by Desh Ratten Pandita, president AIMCCC. Others who accompanied him included B K Raina, J L Raina, T K Bhat,Vinoo Misri, Anil Kumar Mehta.
