JAMMU, June 8: A delegation of All lndia Migrant Camps Coordination Committee (AIMCCC) met Relief & Rehabilitation Commissioner (Migrants) Kuldeep Krishan Siddha, here today and submitted him a memorandum of demands.
The delegation was headed by AIMCCC president Desh Ratten Pandita. While speaking AIMCCC president, invited the attention of the Relief & Rehabilitation Commissioner towards burning problems faced by community people living in camps and non camps.
The main demands include return of Engineering wing back to Relief Organization for smooth and fast execution of works in camps where migrants are residing, enhancement of cash assistance to Rs 24000 per month, installation of four Bore wells, release of balance ex-gratia of gutted/destroyed houses, one time compensation to over aged youth and complete medical facilities in migrant hospitals.
The delegation also raised demand of pure and quality supply of drinking water, rescue parks from encroachers at Jagti township and other camps, transfer and deployment of PM package employees on rotational basis, complete sanitation of Jagti Colony.
The Commissioner gave a patient hearing to the delegation and assured that he will try his best to resolve the problems on priority basis so that people may not suffer any more.
Joint secretary AIMCCC JL Raina, ladies wing district president Srinagar Anjali Kar, senior leader S K Bhat, ladies wing district president Jammu Priya Dhar, senior leader Roop Krishan Raina, ON Koul, Kulwant Singh and senior vice president Mahila wing Santosh Hali were also part of the delegation.
