AIMCCC demands accommodations for PM package employees

JAMMU, Nov 17: All India Migrant Camps Coordination Committee (AIMCCC) in a meeting here, today held under the leadership of its president, Desh Rattan Pandita expressed serious concern over the problems being faced by PM package employees in Kashmir valley due to non allotment of accommodation to them.
He demanded immediate allotment of accommodation to package employees who are living in private and rented houses in different parts of Kashmir. The preference should be given to these employees as they are facing many hardships instead of those employees who are already living in Government quarters of Estates Department or Relief organisation quarters at different parts of Kashmir.
Desh Rattan said there is no logic in providing accommodation in newly constructed quarters to those employees who are at present living in Government accommodations in Valley.
He said the provisional list released by Relief and Rehabilitation organisation in this regard has some lacunas and the authorities must look into that. He said the genuine employees working in Valley have not found their names in the list which is a cause of concern.
He said the Government accommodations are for all package employees and it is duty of Government to accommodate every employee instead of allotting the quarters to those employees who are already occupying quarters of Estates or other departments.
He demanded that the authorities should make proper verification in this regard so that the genuine employees don’t suffer. Moreover, the work on construction of all quarters be intensified.
