AIMCCC demands enhancement of cash assistance to migrants

JAMMU, Oct 27: A meeting of All India Migrant Camp Coordination Committee (AIMCCC) was held at Jagti township under the chairmanship of B. K Raina.
Addressing the meeting the chairman said that Kashmiri Pandits hope that newly elected Government in JK UT will solve all the problems of common masses.
While speaking in the meeting AIMCCC president, Desh Ratten Pandita said UT has an elected Government by the people now and it become its duty to solve all their basic problems. KPs hope that migrants problems will also be on top priority of this Government. He further said that it is the need of the hour to enhance the cash assistance of migrants as market prices are very high so it is difficult for a migrant family to make both ends meet. There are large number of problems which need to be mitigated on priority, he added.
He said KPs also hope that the Government will talk about the return and rehabilitation of migrants. It is a fact that maximum number of migrants belonging to villages are based in camps and as such priority should be given to such people by taking them into confidence before going for any such decision.
KPs hope the present Government is aware about all the problems and will respond the issues positively. AIMCCC general secretary, Jawahar Lal Raina and area coordinator, Ramesh Tikoo said that KPs are facing various problems at Jagti township and requested administration for taking up on priority basis of supplying pure drinking water, renovation of buildings, macadamization of by- lanes, maintenance of parks, providing of basic infrastructure at Sub District Hospital, Jagti, allotment of shops and other things etc. It was also decided that complete charter of demands will be submitted to newly elected Government to mitigate such burning problems.
