AIMCCC holds meeting, discusses migrants issues

JAMMU, Apr 4: All India Migrant Camp Coordination Committee (AIMCCC) in a meeting here, today held under the leadership of B K Raina its Chairman while discussing various problems of Kashmiri migrants demanded enhancement of cash relief for relief holders.
The meeting said the migrants especially those totally dependent on cash relief from Government are facing many hardships due to skyrocketing of prices of essential commodities and they are unable to make their both ends meet in these hard days. It said under these circumstances the Government should not delay enhancement of monthly cash relief.
The meeting said that it seems that the Government is not interested in solving the problems of displaced Pandits who are in 36th year of their exile.
AIMCCC president, Desh Ratten Pandita said that, there are hundreds of families who have no source of income and the Government has also deprived them of various Centrally Sponsored Schemes meant for poor and down trodden people. Moreover, the Government has failed to remove the encroachments on migrants land, Temples and Shrines property. He said those involved in encroachment of migrants property be taken to task and the land be restored to its owners.
He said though respective DCs are the custodians of migrant immovable property but they too failed to ensure the protection of this land which is cause of concern for entire community. Pandita also demanded compensation to over-aged youth.
He said no repairs were conducted to migrant quarters in Jammu since their inauguration over a decade back and demanded that the migrant quarters be immediately renovated.
Pandita also stressed on formation of transparent transfer policy for package employees and their routine basis adjustment outside Valley. He also demanded immediate allotment of quarters to package employees in Kashmir
