AIMCCC’s concern over Govt’s apathy towards displaced KPs

JAMMU, June 18: All India Migrant Camp Coordination Committee (AIMCCC) in a meeting at Jagti township today expressed concern over the apathetic attitude of Government in resolving burning issues of displaced Pandits who are refugees in their own country for over last 33 years. Desh Rattan Pandita, president AIMCCC in his address said that the community was targeted by militants and separatists because they were the nationalists by core. The KPs suffered a huge loss due to turmoil besides about 2000 members of the community were eliminated. He said the houses and other business establishments were either torched by militants or damaged. The traders, orchardists and agriculturists lost their entire property in shape of crop fruits or business.
He said that instead of providing genuine facilities to them the Government was adding to their miseries by forcing them to pay electricity tariff and this all happens only due to misinformation being provided to Central and State Government heads, by some vested interests.
He reiterated demand for cancellation of electricity Tarrif and said that the community be rehabilitated back to Valley without delay by restoring its property and paying full compensations for damages suffered buy it.
He also expressed concern over failure of Government to supply ration to displaced people at Jagti camp and demanded same be issued without delay.
