AIPEF seeks intervention of Chief Secy to avoid mass casual leave

JAMMU, Sept 8: All India Power Engineers Federation (AIPEF) has written a letter to Chief Secretary Jammu and Kashmir today seeking his immediate intervention intervene  so that genuine issues of J&K Power Engineers are resolved and they are not forced to proceed on mass casual leave tomorrow  (Sept 9).
AIPEF Chairman, Shailender Kumar Dubey in a statement here said that in case J&K Power engineers are forced to resort to one day mass casual leave, AIPEF fully supports the J&K Electrical Engineers demand. Their long pending  demands includes  regularisation of service, regular promotions and regular recruitments, non -fulfilment of which is jeopardising the normal working and having adverse impact on day to day working of Power Development Department of J&K.
It may be mentioned that since no positive and fruitful step has been taken by J&K Government, the Power Engineers of Jammu and Kashmir have no option except to resort to one day protest on September 9 by way of resorting mass casual leave throughout the Union Territory. All other Unions of PDD have also extended their support to peacefully agitating JK EEGA.
The recruitment  has been put on hold for the last 7 years and Transmission Corporation is  headless from almost one year now. At present  there are two posts of Managing Director, three posts of EDs, five Chief Enggs, 14 SEs, 61 XEns, 132 AEEs, 164 AEs and around 350 JEs which are vacant leading to situation where every other person is having minimum two or three charge in the Corporations of PDD. The deliberate and inordinate delay in filling up the vacant positions is  denting   the morale of the engineering fraternity.
V K Gupta spokesperson, AIPEF said that JKEEGA has been following these issues for the last so many years and despite assurances nothing has been done till date. The fact is that the entire engineer’s presently working in different Power Corporations has not been granted a single regular promotion.
