LEH, Sept 29: The Indian Air Force (IAF) is celebrating its 91 anniversary on October 8, 2023.
As a part of the celebrations, Air Force Station Thoise organised a grand performance by Air Force band on Thursday at the air base. Air Force Station Thoise is at the confluence of Ladakh, Saltoro and Karakoram ranges with the serene Shyok river in the backdrop and provided a perfect setting for the flow of melody.
The first of its kind event generated highly encouraging response from the local populace. The show was witnessed by the locals, apart from school children, civil dignitaries and Armed Forces personnel.
IAF looks forward to greeting and enthralling the local populace of the Nubra Valley, thereby enhancing awareness about the IAF and encouraging the youth to join the Armed Forces. There is good coordination between the local Army formation and the civil administration towards efficient conduct of the activities, a Defence spokesman said.
