JAMMU, Mar 18: Air Force Station, Jammu today felicitated Capt (Retd) Bana Singh here. He was received by Air Commodore, Nitin Sathe, Air Officer Commanding and Group Captain, Shashikant Pati, Chief Administrative Officer of Air Force Station.
The felicitation ceremony was attended by all the personnel of the station wherein Capt (Retd) Bana Singh shared his experiences.
He motivated the air warriors and inspired them to put their best in service of the nation. He also answered their queries.
Speaking on the occasion, Air Commodore, Nitin Sathe commended the bravery of Capt (Retd) Bana Singh and highlighted the positive impact of his achievements on the morale of air warriors especially those serving on difficult border terrains.
He also presented a memento on behalf of the station to honour Capt (Retd) Bana Singh’s achievement.
Recipient of Param Vir Chakra, highest military honour, Capt Bana Singh was born on January 6, 1949 in village Kadyal.
Bana Singh led the charge to recapture the vantage point called “Quaid Post” named after Mohammad Ali Jinnah on June 26, 1987 after two earlier unsuccessful attempts.
For his act of bravery at the peril of his life, Capt (Retd) Bana Singh was conferred with Param Vir Chakra.
