Air lifting of stranded passengers demanded

KISHTWAR, Mar 13: Pradesh Congress Committee in a meeting held here today under the chairmanship of S S Bhandari senior leader of the Party has demanded immediate airlifting of stranded passengers of Chenab Valley to their localities.
The meeting also demanded that Government should ensure the supply of essential items like ration, K Oil, LPG etc to the people living in snow bound areas of Chenab Valley.
It criticized the Government for not taking any steps in mitigating the sufferings of the people of the snow bound areas who are still cut off from rest of the State and country.
The meeting assuring full support to newly appointed PCC chief, G A Mir resolved to work whole heartedly in strengthening Congress Party in the State. It said that Congress will be strengthened under the dynamic leadership of Mr Mir.
It urged the new president to take the issues of people living in far-flung and remote areas of the State vigorously as it seems that present dispensation has no time to look into the problems of these hapless people.
The meeting was also addressed by Farooq Ahmed Tapal another Congress leader of the area.
