Air traffic

The action of the IAF in enforcing its directive to the civilian air carriers not to carry heavy luggage and not to fly crafts with less than eight wheels to land at Jammu airport is justifiable. After all security measures have to be taken in full particularly for an airport like Jammu which, from security point of view, is the most sensitive airport. However, this notification should have been categorically conveyed in good time, say at least ten day in advance and not at a very short notice. Inconvenience caused to 2500 passengers at landing and boarding sites is not acceptable in a civilized society. Aviation authorities have done a good job at a wrong time and this has brought them the ire of inconvenienced passengers. Anyway, as negotiations have concluded and 32 affected air flights have resumed the flights, it is a matter of relief to the stranded passengers.
