JAMMU, Aug 18: Aircel, one of India’s leading telecom players, today launched Aircel Women Welfare Association (AWWA) in Jammu. This association is solely composed of wives, sisters and daughters of Aircel trade partners and will look into the social welfare schemes of the company in the region.
Members of the association would engage themselves in undertaking various social causes leading and lending their support in initiatives that would benefit the society at large.
Speaking on the occasion, Anil Gupta, Regional Manager, North, Aircel, said, “It is in our DNA to go beyond business and positively impact the society. In this endeavour, we take pride in carrying along all those associated with us in making a difference to society no matter how small or big the outcome. It is indeed a proud moment for us to have the Family of our trade partners come together under one platform and take charge along with us in doing their bit for the society. At Aircel, we have always believed our trade partners are a part of the, ‘Aircel Family’ and AWWA further re-iterates that point”.

The occasion also witnessed a number of children from Aircel’s trade fraternity participating in a painting competition. Expressing themselves through art, children from the age groups of 2- 15 years enthusiastically colored and painted their thoughts on sheets of paper on the theme of ‘ Celebrate Independence with colours’.

This is a relationship that we know will last for a very, very long time”, said Mrs Wadhera, the first president of the Aircel Women Welfare Association.
