AITUC urges Govt for redressal of workers’ grievances

JAMMU, Mar 1: A meeting of AITUC J&K was held here today under the chairmanship of Com Maimuna Begum, Vice President, AITUC Central Committee.
The committee took serious note that the administration and officers have no interest to solve the problems of the employee/general public of the UT, Jammu & Kashmir.
“Recently AITUC J&K submitted a charter of demands of workers/labourers engaged by JP Company and AFCON Company in construction work of Pakkal Dul HE Project of Distt Kishtwar to the Labour Commissioner J&K for settlement, but nothing has been done till date,” said the meet and added that the Daily Wagers of PHE Deptt J&K and other Deptts are also on strike for settlement of their demands but nothing has been done so far.
The meet sought regularising the service of Daily wagers of all State Departments, who have completed seven years of service and stressed that the Labour Department must settle the demands of workers of JP Company & AFCON Company of Pakkal Dul, HE, Project Kishtwar at the earliest.
AITUC appealed to the Government of UT of J&K to settle the demands of Pakkal Dul workers in order to build up trust and relationship between employers, workers and general public.
In the meeting, AITUC J&K decided to hold the two days conference in the month of April i.e. 11-04-2020 and 12-04-2020, in which Central leadership, Com Amarjeet Kour, General Secy and others are going to participate. “We have also invited other Trade Union i.e INTUC, CITU, BMS, HMS, CCLU and other independent organizations to participate in the conference and joint efforts will be initiated for the cause of the working class of J&K and we appeal to the Central Govt to give full status of the State to Jammu & Kashmir,” said the meet.
The meeting concluded with the vote of thanks by S K Sharma, General Secretary. The speakers included Com N K Dogra, Com Balkar Singh, Com Ashwani Pradhan, Com Daleep Singh Bhatti, Com Perminder Kumar and others.
