JAMMU, July 10: An important meeting was held at Amar Mahal, Jammu, addressing the challenges faced by the Dogra community and the current State of Jammu & Kashmir.
The meeting was led by royal family members Ajatshatru Singh and Ranvijay Singh, with participation from Yuva Rajput Sabha (YRS) members, including President Vikram Singh Vicky, former President Rajan Singh Happy, and core committee members Rajinder Singh, Mohan Singh, Ramesh Singh, and Mohinder Singh. Senior stakeholders and members were also in attendance.
Ajatshatru Singh highlighted the historical significance of J&K as a princely State that acceded to India under Dogra ruler Maharaja Hari Singh and expressed regret over J&K’s current status as a Union Territory.
He praised Team YRS for their commitment to the Dogra community and the welfare of J&K.
Ranvijay Singh welcomed Team YRS members and reaffirmed the royal family’s support for YRS initiatives aimed at the betterment of J&K.
He announced the donation of 20 Kanals of land for the construction of a youth hostel and other infrastructure to support YRS and the Rajput community.
Vikram Singh Vicky emphasized Ajatshatru Singh’s dedication to preserving Dogra culture and history, and his advocacy for statehood and Permanent Resident Certificates (PRC) for J&K.
Rajan Singh Happy discussed the issues faced by Jammu’s youth, including employment challenges, and highlighted the need for a robust job policy in J&K.
The meeting concluded with a decision to form an executive committee to address the issues faced by J&K and the Dogra community.
A Public Darbar and Grievance Cell were established to address and resolve community grievances.
