JAMMU, Dec 28: A meeting of Social Justice Standing Committee of Jammu Municipal Corporation (JMC) was held here today under the chairmanship of its Chairman, Ajay Gupta.
Members of Social Justice Standing Committee Tripta Devi, Jeet Kumar, Kuldeep Singh, Sham Lal and Subhash Sharma-all Councillors along with officers Seema Parihar, Deputy Director (FCS & CA); Alka Misra (AD City Circle-1); Ravi Gupta, JKHB; Monika Khajuria, JKHB; Pawan Mattoo, Labour Department and Manisha, Assistant Commissioner Revenue JMC were also present.
In meeting discussion was held on the action taken for the issues raised in previous meeting.
Representatives of the different departments discussed solutions to the problems being faced by general public.
They also informed the Councillors about different schemes and benefits that weaker section can avail through respective departments.
After that the Councillors had one on one discussion with the representatives of different departments who introduced schemes available with their department. The Chairman emphasised on spreading awareness about schemes to general public so that the beneficiaries can avail benefits of these schemes.
He also proposed to expedite the process of new Ration Cards to provide benefits to as many families as possible and appealed Councillors to provide list of beneficiaries before 30th of this month in their respective Ward for benefits under PMAY scheme.
Ajay Gupta said that Social Justice Standing Committee with the help of its members have been working hard on ground level with people in providing them the help they need and in ensuring that they are getting the benefits of various schemes of the Government.
He said that the issue regarding PHH Ration Card and reopening of stopped Ration Cards will be taken up with higher authorities to resolve it soon.
