JAMMU, July 2: A deputation of All Jammu Hotels & Lodges Association (AJHLA) headed by its chairman Inderjeet Khajuria, met with the Chief Engineer, Maintenance and Rural Electrification (M&RE) Jammu in his office chamber and projected their major demands and the issue of erratic power supply during these crucial days of Amarnath Yatra.
The delegation comprising Pawan Gupta (president), Pritam Sharma, HS Manhas, KL Gupta, Vinod Jandyal, Suresh Gupta Baldev and Swaran Singh, demanded the implementation of Government Order No 267 FD of 2018 dated 30-05-2018 in which Government had declared hotels & lodges as industrial units with all the incentives being provided to industrial units including subsidized electricity with effect from April 2018.
The delegation apprised the Chief Engineer that the electricity bills with effect from April have been issued on normal tariff and requested for immediate revision as per Government order with no penalty for delay.
The Chief Engineer listened to the deputation and assured that the revised electricity bills shall be issued from April 18 onwards with no penalty. It was further assured by the Chief Engineer that the power supply shall be improved and there will be no inconvenience to the Amarnath Yatries.
