JAMMU, Dec 15: All Jammu Hotels & Lodges Association has expressed dismay against the discriminatory and indifferent attitude of State Tourism Deptt for ignoring and deliberately avoiding the participation of the Association in the crucial meeting held on December 13 at Jammu which was chaired by the Secretary, Tourism.
Speaking to the members in meeting here today president Inderjeet Khajuria flayed the Jammu Tourism authorities for mismanagement and conspiracy engineered by some vested interests so that the All Jammu Hotels & Lodges Association which is the sole voice of Jammu tourism stakeholders is kept away from participating in the said meeting where the participation of the desired stakeholders from Valley was already ensured as against representation from Jammu.
Terming the attempted nefarious design to isolate and exclude the sole voice of Jammu tourism from the crucial discussions on the development of State Tourism clearly indicates that the Govt wanted to hide the reality behind the tall claims of Chief Minister and the State Tourism regarding rehabilitation of Jammu tourism as there is nothing of the sort as progress in the ongoing Jammu projects, the stalled Artificial Lake Project on Tawi river being an open example besides all the Jammu tourism related projects started to bring back on rails and rehabilitate Jammu tourism to make it an independent tourist destination which were left midway by the outgoing State Government have been practically stalled on ground with virtually no progress except assurances and statements by Chief Minister, Dy CM and MLA till date for the last 9 months.
The hollow claims of the State Govt with practically no work on ground shall in no way help the livelihood of more than 5 lakhs souls dependent on tourism related traders which of late has become a problem. Mr Khajuria claimed that deliberate avoiding the participation of AJHLA was nothing but crushing the voice of Jammu tourism as the ground realities would have been exposed before the public.
Besides others the meeting was attended by Pawan Gupta, HS Manhas, Bikram Singh, Baldev, Amit Khajuria, Gurdarshan Singh, Anil Suri and ML Sharma.
