AJHLA, HRBA, JPVM express solidarity with Kashmir hoteliers

JAMMU, Oct 31: All Jammu Hotels & Lodged Association, (AJHLA),  Hotels Restaurants and Bar Association, (HRBA) and Jammu Paryatan Vikas Mandal (JPVM) have expressed solidarity with  the hotliers and fully supported their counterparts in Kashmir valley who are facing highhandedness at the hands of State Pollution Control Board and Srinagar Municipal Corporation authorities.
In a joint statement issued by Inderjeet Khajuria President All Jammu Hotels & Lodged Association, Kuldeep Wahi president Hotels Restaurants and Bar Association, Ravi Mahajan chairman, Jammu Paryatan Vikas Mandal and Ashiq Hussain, president, Hotels and Restaurants Association, Talab Khatikan Jammu Hotel industry said that hotels only do not cause water pollution it is the waste water effluents from residential area, commercial establishments and tourist destinations that emanate lot of effluents and need treatment by establishing common STPs before discharge into water bodies.
It lauded the role of Chief Minister and Tourism Minister who too appreciated common STPs which is the only viable solution to the problem.
The statement appealed the State Government to devise industry friendly policy as the tourism is the backbone of State economy.
