AJKAC discusses problems of Ayush professionals

JAMMU, Feb 17: All J&K Ayurvedic Congress (AJKAC) met here today to discuss major issues concerning purposeful functioning of the department of Ayush and problems concerning rank and file of Ayurvedic professionals.
The meeting was presided over by State president of the Congress, Dr BR Sharma and attended by working committee members and all district presidents of the Congress.
The speakers expressed grave concern over failure of Directorate of Ayush in settling amicably the decade old problems despite separate Directorate since October 1987. The meeting further said that most of the schemes are being managed on internal arrangement basis for want of projection and subsequent sanction leading to crippling of Ayush dispensaries in far flung areas of the State.
The Congress impressed upon the State Government to bifurcate present State level directorate and establish provincial directorates for Ayurvedic and Unani separately, regularize 74 non-sanctioned institutions opened during last three decades, which at present are being managed on so called internal arrangement basis, create staff for Ayush units functioning at various levels, create all necessary technical staff for Panchakarma and Kshar Sutra units in Ayurvedic Hospital, Jammu, etc.
