JAMMU, Nov 14: All Jammu Kashmir and Ladakh Teachers Federation (AJKLTF), affiliated to Akhil Bhartiya Rashtriya Shaikshik Mahasangh (ABRSM) attended 8th National Conference organized by ABRSM at Chennenhalli in Bengaluru.
The delegation was led by State President Dev Raj Thakur and Rattan Sharma (State Gen Secretary). The theme of the conference was “India Se Bharat Ki Aur”. 41 delegates from Jammu and Kashmir attended the conference.
While speaking in the conference, Rattan Sharma (State Gen Secretary) put forth demand before the dignitaries of ABRSM regarding DPC of Teacher’s to Masters, fair transfer policy for all Cadres in J&K and restoration of old pension scheme and scrapping of NPS for betterment of teaching community. National committee of ABRSM assured that demands pertaining to J&K and restoration of old pension scheme have been included in the charter of demands given to Union Minister of Education Dharmendra Pradhan.
More than 3000 delegates from different states made their presence in the conference. It’s the amalgamation of different educationists and teachers from different parts of India. The purpose of this conference was to imbue Indianness with an aim to propagate the ideology of cultural nationalism in the field of education and society.
Moreover, in the conference many prominent personalities also made their presence. Prominent among them were Pralhad Joshi, Minister of Parliamentary Affairs, Coal and Mines; Basavaraj Bommai, Chief Minister of Karnataka; B S Yediurappa, former CM of Karnataka and several Vice-Chancelors, Professors, Scholar from higher education and prominent social workers.
During the conference, Shikshan Bhushan Award ceremony was also held, wherein Chand Kumar Saluja, eminent Sanskrit Scholar and writer was awarded along with M K Shridharan, UGC member and steering committee member, publisher of more than 30 research papers and 11 academic policies and Dr Bharati Thakur, an eminent educationalist who is working for women education and opened Narmada schools to educate Vanvasi children was awarded with Shikshan Bhushan award for the year 2022. The award was presented to them by Ni. Pra Shivanubhava Charamurthy Mahaswamigalu, divine guru of Shree Belimatha Mahasamsthana Bengaluru, B S Yediurappa, Aniruddha Deshpande, Prof J P Singhal, Mahendra Kapoor and others.
In the conference, a brief session on National Education Policy-2020 was also held urging Teacher’s for effective implementation of NEP-2020. A resolution to scrap NPS and restore old pension scheme was also announced.
