JAMMU, Mar 21: All Jammu Kashmir and Ladakh Teachers Federation (AJKLTF), affiliated with Akhil Bhartiya Rashtriya Shaikshik Mahasangh (ABRSM)) J&K today sought early redressal of issues of the teaching fraternity in J&K UT.
Talking to media persons here today, State General Secretary of AJKLTF Rattan Sharma along with other office bearers briefed about various issues of teaching fraternity and demanded restoration of Old Pension Scheme.
“The provisions under NPS are discriminative in nature and are criticised at large, keeping in view the financial insecurity to the employees in future,” he said and demanded that the old pension scheme be restored at the earliest.
Mr Sharma also demanded DPC for Teachers to Master grade and regularisation of Incharge Lecturers/ Headmasters. As per DSE Jammu’s order vide number DSEJ/NG/M/50551-60 DATED: 16-03-2022, only 1250 posts have been considered for promotion of Teachers as Masters which is a welcome step as the same has been initiated after a long period but it is also a reality that this meager number is negligible keeping in view the stagnation caused in last eight years, he added.
Claiming that Principal Secretary School Education Department, B K Singh had assured them in the last meeting that a number of 3000-3500 posts were likely to be considered for regularising/ confirming the Incharge Lecturers/ Headmasters, the AJKLTF leader said that no action was taken in this regard till date .
Mr Sharma also demanded revision of pay scales for teaching fraternity at par with the pay scales in other UTs of India like Delhi. He also demanded a transparent/ rational/uniform transfer policy to be framed for all cadres of teaching fraternity including erstwhile RRETs.
The others, who attended the press conference, included Rakesh, Pawan and Jasmeet Singh Madaan.
