JAMMU, Dec 27: Deman-ding transparent education policy and modification of the transfer orders which have been issued in violation of the transfer policy norms and highlighting their long pending demands, members of All Jammu Kashmir and Ladakh Teachers Federation (AJKLTF) affiliated to Akhil Bharatiya Rashtriya Shaikshik Mahasangh has expressed serious concern over the Government move.
In the State executive meeting of the organization held here today, under the leadership of State president Devraj Thakur, the teachers strongly raised the issues related to the welfare of the teaching community, which included, modification of irrational transfer orders, release of pending salary, adjustment of Masters promoted under DPC 2014,regularization of all ReT teachers.
Mahindra Kapoor, National general secretary Akhil Bharatiya Rashtriya Shaikshik Mahasangh inaugurated the conference which was attended by all the members of State executive and district presidents and secretaries.
While addressing the meeting, Devraj Thakur said that a transparent/rational transfer policy should be framed and implemented transparently to make the system work efficiently. Lack of proper implementation of present transfer policy created the frustration among the teachers as well as ReT teachers those who are serving in far flung areas of the State since long and they have lost all hopes and get frustrated due to favoritism policy in the department, he added.
He further said that there is a provision of holding DPC twice a year but DPC was not held for several years due to mismanagement. Non- adjustment of promotees up to December 2017 was the matter of concern but after their verification some were adjusted and above 5 hundreds are unadjusted till date. He said as per the figures available, around 3878 posts of teachers, 3326 posts of masters and 2042 posts of lecturers are vacant in the department. Moreover there are 3026 posts of ReT teachers, 156 posts of Headmasters, hundreds posts of ZEOs and Principals vacant in the School Education Department. He demanded that anomaly in the pay grade of teachers in J&K be removed.
