AJKLTF discusses demands

JAMMU, May 5: A day long session of the All Jammu Kashmir and Ladakh Teachers’ Federation (AJKLTF) was held under the chairmanship of Balwan Singh Jamwal, today.
The members reviewed the scenario prevailing on the School Education Department after taking over of the rain of power by the new State coalition Government. The members of the federation with one voice demanded from the State Government to concede the long pending demands of the teaching fraternity without any further delay.
The demands raised in the session were regarding immediate release of mid-day meals salary/RMSA/SSA  grants to avoid the harassment to the teaching fraternity, to frame a transparent transfer policy to streamline the Education system. Adjustment of teachers should be restricted to zone, tehsil to avoid the dislocation to the teachers.
Other demands include like earned leave benefits to the teaching community on the pattern of other State Government employees, senior Teachers grade to under graduate teachers, filling of all vacant posts of Principals, Lecturers, ZEOs, Headmasters, Masters, Teachers, Clerical staff and class IV in institutions.
Exemption of Teachers from extra academic duties, timely release of annual increments of the teachers, Masters working under Principals, ZEOs and Headmasters and properly recorded in their service books at the time of release in increment and issue books at the start of the academic session to the students were the demands discussed.
Other who attended the day long session were Joginder Singh Manhas, Sudershan Sharma, Chaman Lal Sharma, Shamsher Singh, Mohan Lal Sharma, Sanjiwan Singh Jamwal, Naresh Choudhary, Tara Chand, Inderjeet  Gupta, Yaseen Ahmad, Sandal Singh, Jagdeep Singh, Rakesh Kalgotra, Sudershan Verma, Dinesh Singh, Janak Raj, Suresh Kumar, Jyoti Parkash and Joginder Gulati.
