AJKLTF presents charter of demands

JAMMU, June 15: A deputation of All Jammu, Kashmir and Ladakh Teacher Federation (AJKLTF) met the Chief Education Officer, Jammu and apprised him of the problems faced by the teachers.
The charter of demands which was submitted to the Chief Education Officer, Jammu under the leadership of Balwan Singh Jamwal for its early redressal. The charter demanded that transfer of teachers working in district should be restricted to zone and teshil level to avoid the dislocation to the teachers, timely release of annual increment of the teacher, masters and properly recorded in their service books at the time of release of increment as also timely release of salary/mid day meal/SSA grants.
The masters working outside their home district should be brought back to their home district to be adjusted suitably, making mandatory for all DDOs to issue the GPG statement to the teaching staff, filling of all vacant posts of ZEOs, headmasters, teachers, clerical staff and class fourth in institutions, regularizations of teachers in due time, were the other demands mentioned in the charter.
The other demands put forth included exclusion of teachers from extra academic duties, senior teachers grade to under graduate teachers and earned leave benefits to the teaching community on the pattern of other State Government employees.
Mr Jamwal assured that Federation will cooperate with Chief Education Officer for his any step taken to improve the overall standard of education.
The meeting was held in a cordial atmosphere and the CEO assured for early redressal of demands in due course of time.
