AJKPC delegation meets Advisor

JAMMU, June 15: A delegation of All Jammu Kashmir Panchayat Conference (AJKPC), comprising elected Panchayat members from Bishnah and Dansal blocks, today met Kewal Kumar Sharma, Advisor to Governor and apprised him of the problems being faced by the people in rural areas.
Led by Anil Sharma, State president AJKPC, the delegation discussed various issues concerning scarcity of drinking water, unscheduled power cuts and dilapidated roads in rural areas of Bishnah and Dansal blocks and their immediate redressal.
During the meeting, the elected Panchayat members informed that several villages in Bishnah and Dansal blocks have been facing acute shortage of drinking water and villagers are forced to fetch potable water from long distances amid sweltering heat. They also raised their concerns about the long and unscheduled power cuts in rural areas, demanding that a mechanism be set up to provide relief to people from present electricity crisis.
The delegation also submitted a memorandum comprising charter of demands to the Governor through Advisor K K Sharma.
