AJKTWA extends gratitude to LG

JAMMU, June 21: Chairman All J&K Transport Welfare Association (JKTWA), Ajit Singh has expressed gratitude to the Lt Governor Manoj Singh and Chief Secretary, A K Mehta for accepting long pending demands of transporters.
During a press conference here in which all the presidents, representatives, transporters and other members of Association were present, the All J&K Transport Welfare Association extended gratitude to the Lt Governor Manoj Sinha, his advisor Rajiv Rai Bhatnagar, Chief Secretary Arun Kumar Mehta, Administrative Secretary to Transport Department Prasanna Ramaswamy, Transport Commissioner Rahul Sharma to fulfil long pending demand of fitness of commercial vehicles who have above the age of 15 years.
Ajit Singh said transporters were bound to pay the double fitness renewal fees twice in a year provided further that inspection for fitness of public service vehicles whose age more than 15 years from the date of manufacture shall be carried out twice in a year (half yearly).
The full fitness fee as notified under rule 81 of CMV rules 1989 shall be grant of first fitness certificate during a year and a token fee of Rs 100 shall be charged for carrying out second six monthly fitness inspection of the vehicle, with all record in online mode.
