AKHNOOR, Apr 11: A 45-year-old man from Thati Sungal village in Akhnoor area of Jammu district was found murdered under mysterious circumstances in Mukerian area of Punjab.
The deceased, identified as Vicky Kumar, was reportedly lured on the pretext of marriage and robbed of Rs 1.95 lakh.

According to the family members, Vicky Kumar worked as a labourer and had recently befriended a migrant labourer in Thati Sungal area.
Since Vicky was unmarried, they claimed, the migrant acquaintance allegedly promised to get him married in Punjab or Delhi.
Trusting the man, Vicky took Rs 1.95 lakh from home and left with him five days ago, the family members said.
On Wednesday night, the family received a call from the Punjab Police informing them that Vicky’s body had been found near a railway line in Mukerian.
According to Punjab Police, the body bore multiple injuries, including deep wounds from a sharp weapon.
While his money was missing, the migrant labourer he had accompanied is also untraceable, the police claimed.
According to Punjab Police, the post-mortem was conducted in Mukerian, after which the body was handed over to the family.
Vicky Kumar was cremated in his native village in Akhnoor on Thursday evening.
The family alleged that Vicky was murdered and robbed. They demanded that both Punjab and Jammu and Kashmir Police launch a joint investigation to identify and punish the culprits at the earliest.
