SRINAGAR, Oct 13: Advisor to Chief Minister Qamar Ali Akhoon flagged-off a rally of volunteers on the occasion of International Disaster Risk Reduction Day at Civil Defence Control Room here today.
Hundreds of volunteers and students including with disabilities participated in the rally. The theme of the event was living with disasters and disabilities.
Present on the occasion, were DIG Civil Defence Mubarak Ahmad Ganai, Special Secretary to Chief Minister, Showkat Ahmad Beig, Hony Secretary General, Red Cross Society Roma Wani, Executive Director, JKVHA, A. M. Mir, Joint Director, Youth Services and Sports, Nelofer Amin, besides Principals of various Colleges, Deputy Commandant, State Disaster Response Force (SDRF), Deputy Controller, Civil Defence, Deputy Chief Warden, Civil Defence and President Chootay Taray.
