JAMMU, July 2: Minister for CAPD and Transport, Qamar Ali Akhoon on Monday reviewed the functioning of CAPD department and took stock of distribution and availability of food grains in the sale outlets and godowns of the Government in all the districts of Jammu division.
The Minister directed the officers for timely and proper distribution of ration especially LPG among the people. He also directed the officers to ensure that the ration entitled under drought relief should be provided to the deserving beneficiaries in time especially in Doda and Kishtwar.
Mr Akhoon exhorted upon the officers to ensure early issuance of new ration cards to the beneficiaries so that they could be provided ration as per their present requirement. He also asked them to ensure that the deserving families are covered under fresh BPL survey.
He said that Government has launched various welfare schemes so that poor people could be facilitated with all necessary services especially designed for socio economic empowerment of weaker sections of the society.
It was decided in the meeting that vigilance committees comprising concerned MLAs, District Development Commissioner, Councilor of the area, Sarpanchs and Panchs would be constituted at village level for effective monitoring of distribution of ration and other essential commodities as well.
Among others Dy Controller, Legal Metrology, Deputy Secretary CAPD, Joint Controller, Legal Metrology Jammu, Assistant Directors CAPD (Rationing-1&II) and other officers of various departments were also present in the meeting.
