JAMMU, Feb 25: Vihangam Yoga Akshar Foundation distributed school material and other gifts among 60 children in Khakkal Anganwadi in Satwari area, here today.
Akshar Foundation is a service organization run by Mother-Power of Sadguru Sadafaldev Vihangam Yoga Sansthan, which is working towards child welfare.
Every year on February-25, gifts like school materials are distributed to thousands of needy children across the country. Free residential schools are also run by Vihangam Yoga Sansthan at different places of the country, which are providing culture and education to many needy children every year.
Also Anganwadi students were distributed with one “Name- Fruit Tree” sapling each. ‘Name Tree’ is a plantation initiative which intends to inspire people of every age group to plant at least one tree with their name so that they can take care of the tree as their own.
A total of 65 saplings were distributed and planted on the occasion. The imitative will encourage them to water and take care of it daily. Such little steps taken will surely help in fostering strong mental and social health among today’s generation so that they can connect with nature and community, said one of the office bearers of the Foundation.
After this study material distribution program, Anuradha Sharma, Principal of Hakkal Anganwadi expressed her gratitude to Akshar Foundation for this event and that most of the children here come from the most backward sections of the society.
“Such programs are not only very helpful for them, but it also boosts the morale of the children and inculcates a sense of respect towards the society,” she said.
