SRINAGAR, Feb 23: Alkhudam Truck and Tipper Owners Union Nagerder Khrew in Pulwama district of South Kashmir has sought immediate intervention of Governor N N Vohra for smooth functioning of the Truck Union.
In a statement issued here today Mohammed Mabool Shah general secretary of the Union has accused the administration of creating hurdles in functioning of the Truck Union in the area which is a registered body. He said the Union which is running scores of trucks and tippers in the area is not allowed to function by some vested elements who are having full backing of the administration as well.
He said that the capitalists have made the living of the poor people of the area very difficult after establishing cement plants and stone crushers and the rising pollution has hampered the agriculture production. The people have now shifted to transport which is the main source of livelihood in the area but the vested interests are creating hurdles in running the Union as well which has been a cause of worry to them.
The Union has hence made an appeal to Governor seeking his immediate intervention in the matter.
