KATHUA, June 2: Director General of Police (DGP) Dilbag Singh has said that all the security arrangements are in place for Shri Amarnathji Yatra.
He stated this after reviewed security scenario in the hilly areas of Udhampur and Kathua Districts.
Accompanied by IGP Jammu Zone MK Sinha and SP Kathua Sridhar Patil, DGP made aerial visit of higher reaches of Dudu Basantgarh in Udhampur District and Bani Police Station in Kathua district.
Later, DGP visited District Police Lines Kathua and inaugurate the Recreation Hall.
While talking to media persons, DGP Dilbag Singh said that he toured the higher reaches to review and strengthen the security setup including SOG posts, VDC members, Police Station and Police Post.
He said the neighbouring country Pakistan is trying to disturb the atmosphere in peaceful areas and misleading the youth in joining militancy. “We have made arrangements to overcome any situation and necessary step have been taken to strengthen the security grids”, he added.
While talking on security arrangement for Shri Amarnathji Yatra, he said all security arrangement are in place and adequate deploying have been made from Lakhanpur to Pahalgam and Baltal viz to holy cave.
“We hope that the number of pilgrims will increase this year as compared to last years”, he added.
