JAMMU, June 3: The Jammu and Kashmir Finance Department has directed all the Government departments and their agencies to shift to full fledged Digital receipts/payment and avoid cash transaction in any manner.
A circular in this regard has been issued by the Finance Department with a view to promote digitization of receipts/payments and enhance financial inclusion through digitization.
“It is impressed upon all the concerned Government departments/agencies to immediately implement modalities on digital receipts/payments under Digital India Mission in UT of Jammu and Kashmir,” reads the circular while listing the modalities.
As per these modalities, option shall be made available for citizens to Government/business to Government receipts, such a payment of registration fee, water tax, license finance etc through digital mode of payment. All dues as payable to the Government account in the revenue generating departments shall only be through digital payment. For the said purpose, QR Codes, UPI, UPI IDs, Account numbers should be made readily available on the cash counter. Hospital charges, including registration, clinical and other examinations shall only be through digital payments.
Besides, the departments shall raise awareness regarding digital payments via campaigns, festivals and events.
