JAMMU, Jan 7: An All India Art Exhibition organized by Jammu and Kashmir Centre for Creative Arts (JKCCA), Jammu in collaboration with Studio Akshay, Pune, at Raja Ravi Verma Art Gallery, Pune (Maharashtra) concluded today.
Murli Lohati, veteran and National awardee artist of Pune, was the chief guest. Kulwant Singh Gill, a well known artist from Amritsar was the guest of honour and Ramesh Bhosale, an eminent artist from Pune, was the special guest on this occasion.
The prominent among the artists whose works were displayed in this show included KS Gill and Dharminder Sharma (Punjab), Mohd Aslam Naqashbandi, OP Sharma and Shahida Malik (J&K), VS Rahi (New Delhi), Nathu Lal Verma (Rajasthan), Amita Khare, Romika Bhasin (Madhya Pradesh), Ram Viranjan and Reena Choudhary (Haryana), Minu Dey (West Bengal), Pratima Singh (Uttar Pradesh), Sharmila Gupta and Shubdha Bhosale (Maharashtra) and Shahid Pasha (Karnataka).
Speaking on this occasion, Murli Lohati said that JKCCA is doing very well in the field of art, culture and languages. He hoped that more such events would be conducted at Pune and other such places in future also.
OP Sharma, Director, JKCCA, also presented his views about the activities of the organization. He said that the organization has plans to conduct an all India Art Exhibition of the works of veteran, senior and upcoming artists at Lalit Kala Akademi, New Delhi and an All India Painters’ Camp at Poonch during the month of February, 2016 and an Exhibition of Basohli Paintings during March, 2016 at Kala Kendra, Jammu.
He added that an Artists’ Directory of J&K artists will be published in very near future. He said that JKCCA has been working with full zeal for the promotion, development and propagation of art, culture and languages for the last 16 years under the supervision of Pt Kewal K Sharma, president, JKCCA and a well known social worker of J&K.
