JAMMU, Mar 11: National president of All India Gujjar Mahasabha Advocate Mazahir Rana, in a meeting held here today, nominated office bearers for Jammu and Kashmir.
Bashir Ahmed Kohli was nominated as J&K president, Noor Ali Gagiee and Hazi Zakir Hussain as vice-presidents, Ali Khan as general secretary while Alam Din and Mohd Sadeeq were nominated as secretaries of J&K UT.

Further, Shokat Ali was nominated as Jammu District president, Gafoor Ahmed as Reasi District president, Mohd Shafi as Kishtwar District president, Basher Ahmed as Doda District president, Mohd Shafi as Samba District president, Mahid Hakla as Ramban District president, Adbul Kareem as Udhampur District president, Parvez Iqbal as Poonch District president, Noor Ali as Kathua District president, Mohd Irfan as Rajouri District president, Bagh Hussain as Jammu (Rural) president and Mohd Rafeeq as Jammu (Urban) president.
Speaking on the occasion, Mazahir Rana said All India Gujjar Mahasabha is a registered body which is non-political and it has nothing to do with any politics. He added that the All India Gujjar Mahasabha management committee is elected in 5 years and after the recommendation of the managing committee and approval of the National president of the Mahasabha, the All India Gujjar Gujjar Mahasabha State Committees are formed.
“The aim of the All India Gujjar Mahasabha is to end the evils prevalent in the community by spreading awareness among community members and running an anti-drug movement. The mahasabha propagates against the dowry system and it does the work of sending children to school while promoting and disseminating knowledge,” he added.
On the occasion, vice president of All India Gujjar Mahasabha Choudhary Basher Khatana, Himachal Pradesh president Choudhary Haji Alaaditiya, Punjab president Haji Sukardin, Secretary Uttar Pradesh Doud Rana were also present.
