JAMMU, July 31: The 5-day All India Painters Camp concluded successfully here today at K.L Saigal Hall in JKAACL premises.
The Camp was inaugurated on July 27, 2023 by Bal Krishan, Deputy Commissioner (Judicial), Taxes Department Jammu, in the presence of T.S Batra, Former Principal IMFA, Jammu; O.P Sharma, Director JKCCA; Dr. Shahnawaz, Editor cum Cultural Officer, JKAACL; Rakesh Sharma, Head of Fine Arts Department, IMFA and S. Kulwant Singh, prominent artist from Amritsar.
Prominent artists participating in the Camp were Jitinder Kumar from Delhi, Kulwant Singh Gill, Amritsar, S. Sukhpal Singh, Amritsar, Mohd. Moin, Dehradun, Dharminder Sharma, Amritsar, Tariq Saify, Poonch, Narinder Kumar and Parveen Gupta from Jammu.
In his welcome address Secretary JKAACL, Bharat Singh said that painting is a medium to express thoughts on canvas.
Sunaina Sharma Mehta, Joint Director, Tourism, Jammu was chief guest on the concluding function and she said: “What one cannot express in words, a painter can express that feeling through his painting.”
Certificates of participation were also distributed among the participants by the chief guest.
Senior artists like Jung S. Verman, K.K Gandhi, Anil Saraf, Rohit Verma, Kamal Nain Bhan, Akram Kahan and Ashok Mehra besides various art students from IMFA, Jammu and other colleges visited the Camp and were present in the concluding function.
O.P Sharma, Director JKCCA presented vote of thanks. The proceedings were conducted by Anil Tickoo, Assistant Cultural Officer JKAACL.
