JAMMU, Sept 15: All J&K Gaddi Sabha delegation met Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha and submitted memorandum of demands.
The delegation led by UT President All J&K Gaddi Sabha Parveen Jaryal and comprising of senior community members including veteran tribal leader Choudhary Haroon Khatana, Karan Singh, Bhim Sen, Bansi Lal, Om Parkash and Ramesh submitted the memorandum of demands highlighting their burning issues.
Jaryal while speaking reiterated the demand for constituting an Integrated Tribal Development Board in J&K at the earliest to ensure holistic development of tribal communities.
Other demands raised by the deputation include construction of hostels at various locations for ST students, rectification in revenue record to include Kohlis in the list of STs, reservation in favour of the employees of ST community, complete electrification of left out tribal villages such as Dodotu village of block Duggan in Kathua, road connectivity to the tribal habitations areas water supply scheme for Rasli Thukrai Sippi Mohalla in block Duddu district Udhampur and Sandaar ST mohalla district Kathua.
Jaryal emphasized the need to explore marketing avenues for sheep and goat products especially wool. He also emphasized on generating employment opportunities for the youth of Gujjar Bakarwal and Gaddi Sippi tribes.
